It is tagged as the natural laboratory of wildlife evolution “the Galapagos Islands.“ Not only that it has an allure that is waiting to be discovered by you, but it is also one of the safest travel destinations in the world. Its remarkable wildlife is home to over 400 species including fishes and other endangered animals. It is more of having an up-close experience with nature but on a different level.
The pandemic has got me stuck in a home for many months. Fortunately, Galapagos Islands are now open, and you can experience it first hand through the day tour package offered by Altamar Yacht. I heard many good things about it, and finally, I was able to experience it first-hand.

I am sharing with you my experience so that you will get a glimpse of this little paradise.
I heard from a friend about Altamar Yacht. It has been around for quite some time now but remodelled in 2014 to meet the standards set by governing bodies about passengers’ safety and comfort. What I love about the yacht is that it has both indoor and outdoor social areas. It can accommodate up to 16 passengers. My tip is when you book for a daily tour; you have to inform the management ahead of time whether you are coming to a small group or big group. Travelling with a big group is fun, but it could also be useful for couples or family. I was with my family when I went there, and my children enjoyed their time there.
The Altamar Yacht is your ticket to a safe destination in the island. Here’s our itinerary:
- Our tour begins at Puerto Ayora, where we were picked up by Altamar’s bus from our hotel.
- We finally abord on the yacht, and we stopped at some of the beautiful spots on the island. We have a naturalist guide that guides us through the trails. We were also given ample time to snorkel. The water of Galapagos is breathtaking. It is pristine.
- Our lunch is something I will never forget. The boat’s chef prepares delicious foods. The foods and drinks are refreshing.
- At the end of the day tour, we were taken back to the hotel.
It was indeed one of the shortest yet memorable get-away I ever experience. I have plans on coming back but with a huge group of friends.
